Siemens needed a SPECT-CT medical imaging system that combined dynamic nuclear imaging with the rich detail of computed tomography while creating a non-threatening and physically comfortable experience for patients.
Immersion
Merging what had been standalone imaging modalities required a thorough understanding of use cases, work flows and the expectations and perceptions of clinicians. Formation worked closely with partner hospitals and Siemens’ in-house development team to understand clinical procedures.
Workflow
The Symbia system increases workflow optimization for clinicians and enhances patient throughput, and the machine requires less space and fewer personnel to operate.
Formation addressed the diverse needs of the device's three primary user groups: patients, technicians and service personnel.
